Aphid in Butterfly Park, Kuala Lumpur

Caught in Butterfly Park, Kuala Lumpur!! A giant aphid on a heliconia! A gigantonomous aphid for sure!! Never seen any that size before, but then again, why am I surprised. I saw some huge huge Atlas Moths not too long ago in the same park!!!  Not sure what the park keepers are doing right... or wrong... maybe seriously wrong...!!

Nevertheless, it was beautiful to behold, so white, and so fine, all the pointy things, feelers I guess, moving in slow motion, as if underwater. Alien-like even.

  1. Ha! How cool! I love seeing things that are so different from what I see normally. Around here things stay the same pretty much always.

That's a great flower and you captured the colour perfectly!

  2. Thanks Krista! Glad you like the flower! They're so so pretty, aren't they? I think they grow quite well in your region too. And they last a really long time as cut flowers. Just add water. Hehe.

  3. I would have never thought it to be an aphid at first glance. You're right, it's huge! A very nice contrast to the yellow & green though. :)

I would love it if you gave feedback. We all love those things right? (I know) I do! Thank you (so much) in advance! :)
